that she loves the rain

It's raining. Oh, how I love the rain. It makes me a little restless, but I still love it. It's so calm, so peaceful. It's rejuvenating, and it's wet. I confused Stephen the first day that it rained this school year. he got out his umbrella and opened it, and I refused to walk underneath it. He said he only got it out because of me. I don't like umbrellas very much. I don't see why one would stand under an umbrella when they could dance and run and frolic out in the rain instead. I want my first kiss to be in a parking lot, under the street lamps, in the rain, after dancing. It's not realistic, but it's still my dream. Perhaps it's because of listening to Taylor Swift's "Fearless." But even before that, I've always thought of rain as romantic. I remember lying on my bed when I was younger, writing in my diary and listening to the rain. I love thunder, too, and lightning. Last summer, on my way to my best friend's house, it was pouring. Absolutely pouring. It was a two hour drive normally, but it was raining so badly that it took us three hours to get there. I had a lot of fun on that trip. We nearly had to pull over a couple of times because her mom couldn't see out the windshield. We were at a dead stop once, and there was a lightning bolt that went from so high up we couldn't see to the ground, and the thunder shook the truck. It was amazing, and scary, too. And, let's see, any more rain memories? Well, when I lived in Kansas, there was a really bad thunderstorm when my then best friend and her brother were over after school and the tornado sirens went off and we hung out in the basement for a while. Oh, and on that subject, tornadoes are awesome, too. There was once a tornado that STOP! Okay, before I go on, I must say that none of the tornadoes I've gone through have done any damage, and therefore are cool. Nondestructive tornadoes are extremely cool. Destructive tornadoes are only cool if they're fake (like on the Wizard of Oz or something like that). Anyways, GO! my dad and I watched from the front porch and it literally disappeared right. over. our. house. It was soooooooooo cool! Hurricanes, now that I'm back in hurricane territory or whatever it's called (there's Tornado Alley, is there something for hurricanes? I believe so), are okay. I think they're just plain old okay. Again, I'm talking about nondestructive. I mean, I love the rain and all (see above) but that's a lot. Rain lasting for more than two days is too much. I love the wind, too, but again, too much. I guess the first few days are cool, but the rest? I'll take a tornado any day. :-)
So tomorrow, I go back to school. I have four test grades I may or may not find out, a couple of people to ask "Are you mad at me?" a couple of people to apologize to, and one person to avoid at all costs. I've got one person to prove myself to, one person to thank, and a book fair to hit up. I've got a couple of late assignments to turn in. I've... oh, shoot, I have seven chapters of sparknoting- I mean, reading to do! Crud, I forgot all about that. You know what I think? I think that I should burn all copies of Great Expectations. But that's for another post.
See you tomorrow!
Oh, and Happy Channukah to those of you who celebrate it. My (step)dad's Jewish, so we celebrate it. Mom made latkes last night. Again, another post. Oh, boy, I have a lot of ideas today!
